Design Inspiration

Hi y’all! This is my first blog post, so I thought I would introduce myself and share some of my favorite designers who inspire me to be creative and take risks.

My name is Lauren Morgan. I am a wife and mother to 2 children and 2 dogs. My husband is a minister at our church where we serve together. I am passionate about creating spaces that use color as a means to energize and spark creativity. I want my home to feel tropical, colorful, and comfortable. I am a plant lady. Five years ago, I successfully grew a Chinese Evergreen without killing it, and my plant collection has grown wildly from there. I would rather take a chance and be memorable, than play it safe and be boring.

I have been following interior designers for years on Instagram, and there are a few who I truly admire and who inspire my creativity.

Jennifer at Dimples and Tangles is my design twin. We have almost the exact same taste. I could scroll through her Instagram all day long. I love her choice of bright green for her china cabinet, and her genius way of mixing patterns. You have to go and check out her hand painted buffalo plaid bathroom. It is to die for!

There is no one more colorful than Kara Whitten from KailoChic. Her Instagram posts brighten my day and I’m awed by her creativity. Year after year she reinvents her home and comes up with amazing crafts that anyone can do! Visit her online store to purchase brightly colored holiday decor.

I recently discovered Courtney from Zig&Co. I knew right away that we could be friends. She is bold in her use of color and pattern in a way that I could only dream to be. I love her mix of vintage and new. Visit her online store to purchase her gorgeous needlepoint pillows.

Paige Minear from The Pink Clutch was one of the first designers that I discovered on Instagram that embraced color. She is a true Georgian who loves buffalo plaid and a good monogram. I love how she uses her faith to encourage others each week.

Justina Blakeney from the Jungalow influenced my love of plants. I love how her spaces feel like a jungle, a tropical destination, and a cozy place to relax all mixed into one. Her design is evidence that you can never have enough plants. You have probably seen her product line for sale recently at Target.

I am grateful to these and other designers that have inspired me and emboldened my design.
